The book was okay。 It was a quick read, but the plot was too straightforward and predictable。 The few twists were ones I could see coming。

Page TurnerThis was a great page turner。 The twist at the very end was unexpected。 Love that it was based in Columbus, Ohio。
Sonia,
This was an Amazon first read selection for March。
Niki,
What a crazy rollercoaster of a book this was! I disliked the main character, Tish, so much I could have smacked her。 And I never stopped disliking her。 I had a few different theories while reading but didn't expect the ending at all。 Great read! Light mindless reading, not a particularly innovative book but reads well。
Linda Romer,
I liked The Next Wife。 This was a good, not great suspense novel。 I just couldn't vibe with the characters and I figured out what was happening pretty much from the beginning。 I didn't like the formatting, to many short meaningless chapters。 I liked The Next Wife。 This was a good, not great suspense novel。 I just couldn't vibe with the characters and I figured out what was happening pretty much from the beginning。 I didn't like the formatting, to many short meaningless chapters。 。。。more

Angela C,
I really liked this author's first 2 books, so I am not sure what happened here。 This one just didn't do it for me。 Too bad, because I was really looking forward to reading this。 I really liked this author's first 2 books, so I am not sure what happened here。 This one just didn't do it for me。 Too bad, because I was really looking forward to reading this。 。。。more
Sue,
Fun read! This has some great back and forth between the characters。 Each chapter is devoted to either Tish who is the new wife, Kate who is the old wife or Ashlyn who is the daughter。 John has done them all wrong。 He is planning to leave Tish for Kate just as he left Kate for Tish。 Ashlyn feels betrayed by him and hates having a stepmom so close to her own age。 Who kills who? Well, read the book and you will know。 I love the way I was kept guessing right to the very end!
Olivia,
Not a satisfying readI like the different narration approach but don’t like how Terry Jane (?) was portrayed so clueless and simple minded and how they just randomly shared their “secrets” to each other。 Not a fan of the ending either。
Candice Mckinney,
The Next Wife is fast paced and full of twists and turns。 Very good book!
Debra Russo,

Twisted taleEach character’s thoughts, words and actions propel this story from begin to end。 The plot seems simple but the real story keeps the reader guessing。
Heidi,
Made it 30%。 Then quit。 I just kept losing interest。 No one I cared enough about to keep reading。 Not horrible, just didn't keep me drawn in。 Made it 30%。 Then quit。 I just kept losing interest。 No one I cared enough about to keep reading。 Not horrible, just didn't keep me drawn in。 。。。more
Amy Phelps,
It was wicked and I loved it!
Polly J。 Van Benthusen,
John never had a chance! Two women scorned is a recipe for disaster。 John was doomed the minute he crossed that line with his first wife。 The story is interesting and comes from two perspectives, the first wife and the second wife。 Adding to the tension is a fortune at stake。 The end was not a total surprise but the vehemence was。 Good read。
Nancy Fitzpatrick,
This might be the worst book I've ever read。 The plot was extremely predictable。 The language was repetitive at best, boring at worst。 The characters were flat and undeveloped。 The story was told from the viewpoints of these characters, but their voices were indistinguishable from each other。 The same thoughts were repeated over and over and over, until I wanted to throw the Kindle up against the wall。 Worst waste of money EVER。 This might be the worst book I've ever read。 The plot was extremely predictable。 The language was repetitive at best, boring at worst。 The characters were flat and undeveloped。 The story was told from the viewpoints of these characters, but their voices were indistinguishable from each other。 The same thoughts were repeated over and over and over, until I wanted to throw the Kindle up against the wall。 Worst waste of money EVER。 。。。more
Patty,
If you are looking for a deep and meaningful story, you will not find it here。 This is a light and pretty silly book about sociopaths。 I gave it two stars because I wanted to find out who the killer was。
Kimberly Young,
Wonderful readKeeps you on your toes for sure。 Well written and the suspense keeps you locked in and you will read it in one day。
Jacqueline,
This was a fun book, but what a guilty pleasure—I felt like I snacked on too many Oreos at the end。 Pretty cheesy writing and characters as one-dimensional as a straight line, but I had to keep reading! This book reads fast as you see the first and second wife battle it out with each other。 Good trashy reality-TV entertainment。
Paul,
This book is what it is。 Dumb stereotypically acting middle age successful male。Bitter first wifeYoung, nasty, I want it all second wife, mentally unstable, and from the south and abused, I think that ticks all the boxes。Spoiled childYou are pretty sure how the book will end from the very beginning。 None of the characters have any real depth, and nothing really happens in most of the book。All that being said it is still entertaining, just not very deep and pretty predictable。
Jessica Noyes,
First comes lust, then comes marriage, then comes the perfect opportunity。 Kara Rouda keeps you entertained in this page turner through the perspectives of the ex-wife, the daughter, and the next wife。 Perfect case of you think you know。。。 but you don't! This book chronicles the strife between a man's first wife and his second wife。 They both plot against one another。 I liked the devious, tricky elements, but none of the characters really stood out。 They were rather bland。 It was a fun, easy read, but nothing too exciting。 This book chronicles the strife between a man's first wife and his second wife。 They both plot against one another。 I liked the devious, tricky elements, but none of the characters really stood out。 They were rather bland。 It was a fun, easy read, but nothing too exciting。 。。。more

Beware The Next Wife。 Once you start it, you won't stop until you've finished it。 Karia Rouda's narrators spin a complicated web of twists and turns that resolve in a chilling pair of final surprises that will make you catch your breath。 Ruthless fun。 Despicable stars that will seduce you。 And Kaira's usual tight plotting。 All these add up to a rollercoaster ride that will leave you stunned and satisfied。 Beware The Next Wife。 Once you start it, you won't stop until you've finished it。 Karia Rouda's narrators spin a complicated web of twists and turns that resolve in a chilling pair of final surprises that will make you catch your breath。 Ruthless fun。 Despicable stars that will seduce you。 And Kaira's usual tight plotting。 All these add up to a rollercoaster ride that will leave you stunned and satisfied。 。。。more
MacKenzie Masters,
Kaira Rouda fires this one at us like a rocket, doing the nearly impossible, creating ruthless characters we hate and love at the same time。 The secrets in The Next Wife are a Gordian knot that only we readers can untie。 If you love books that leave you with chills, The Next Wife should be your next main course。
